Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own

As many know, this last year has been a tough one. But one thing I have learned is we truly are here to help each other. I wanted to start my blog by saying thank you. Thank you to all who have lifted and loved me and kept me on solid ground. Without you I don't think I would still be smiling, loving, and laughing, and on most days doing even more than just surviving. Thank you to my honey who is still my best friend, who is always trying today to be better than he was yesterday, who laughs with me (and sometimes at me), and sees my good and my bad and loves me anyway! Thank you to Becky who is a sister at her finest...a friend, a confidante, a supporter, and a cheerleader. You tell me constantly that I am doing ok and that tomorrow will be a better day and you can somehow listen and talk even with 3 kids in your background and 8 in mine (Barb's kids are here too!) Thank you to Barb who tells me I am strong and beautiful, everyone needs someone who makes them feel they still have so much too offer even when life gets you down. Thank you to my good friend Taunie for knowing more about me than any friend should have to and loving me and my family wholeheartedly. Thank you to Wendy (and her friends) for making me laugh and making me feel funny...a true compliment from the master comedian. Thank you to Chris and Jen for showing me true strength in the face of adversity, for keeping my faith alive in the power of the human spirit, and for always putting others first and caring about other people's problems even when theirs are biggers than most of us could ever imagine. Thank you to Grandma, Aunt Luan, Dad, Kendra, Cheilah, Adam, and Marylyn and Jack for always being concerned about our financial situations and helping us in every way you can while still letting us know you realize we are truly doing all we can...thank you for loving us, and never making us feel second rate. Thank you to my kids for making me smile always. Thank you to too many others to name but please know we truly do need each other and I truly do appreciate you all. I love you!!

Yeah! I am the first to leave a comment- I have the internet!!!!!!!!! You are doing great so once again I feel inspired to tell you in the words of my friend Christopher Robin (the second smartest Christopher I know) "You're braver than you believe. Stronger than you seem. And smarter than you think." Here is another favorite for ya: "Courage doesn't always roar.Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, 'I will try again tomorrow.'"- Mary Anne Radmacher. I love ya!

I left my other message and learned that I need an account and a password, so I followed the instructions and came back to this point, and the computer flashed and my whole syrupy, teary letter was gone! Now, I have to fake it!!!!! :>)

Actually, I wrote telling you that I cried through your whole first letter, and felt that I am probably; the luckiest mother in law in this old world of ours. I said that I have told people since Julie married Bryan years ago, that I could have had the choice of any other man in the world for my daughter, or woman for my son, and would never have come close to being as blessed as I am with you and Bryan. I also told you that I have been grateful that God chose not to bless me with the burdens you have carried....being a mother of five, twins included...patient, loving, always there and never ever ever saying an unkind word. I am lucky indeed, and thank God for you for what and who you are to my son and my grandchildren. I wish we had a fortune, but we don't and so we can only bless you in the small ways you and Darrin allow, but you are worth the world's wealth to me. You are loved, and we are grateful that you are part of our family.
